Recognition for Rosie
At the October 2015 meeting of the Residents Association South Sunshine Coast, Rosie Daymond from the BookShop at Caloundra received an Exceptional Service Award.
Rosie Daymond was thrilled to be receiving the award. “It’s just great to be appreciated for something that I appear to have been doing very well and that I’ve been doing my best for,” she said. Ms Daymond has been working at the book shop since she left school seven years ago. |
Over that time she said that she’s grown in all aspects of the job, particularly in people skills and confidence. However, it's been a steep learning curve at times.
“I’m not the most out-going person so that’s been a challenge for me to get out there and work with customers and suppliers,” Rosie admitted. Graeme Bowden, the owner/manager of the BookShop at Caloundra considers Rosie Daymond a worthy recipient of the Exceptional Service Award. He shared, “She’s very very pleasant. She’s very good to the customers.” This monthly award was initiated by the Residents Association South in May 2015. The group’s Secretary Peter Bryant explained, “We want to see the service levels improve in our local area. This award is a way of giving public recognition to people who give great service day after day.” The association recognises that great service comes from great training and support within a business. For this reason the group also awards employers with an award which was received by Graeme Bowden at the same October meeting. “The award is really really important as far as I’m concerned. It’s good for the businesses and good for employees to get that recognition from someone outside the business,” commented Mr Bowden.
